St. Joseph’s Hospital solves staffing challenges with checkout-free café built with Just Walk Out technology

Facing staffing shortages after the pandemic, St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, FL, part of BayCare Health System, struggled with long lines at checkout stations, with some customers spending more than 20 minutes in the cafeteria at its busiest.

Solution

In 2024, the hospital opened a checkout-free café using Just Walk Out technology, allowing employees and visitors to get in and out of café quickly and maximize their break time.
